How to choose amenities for a boutique riad
Guests in a riad expect a sense of place. A practical guide to sizes, scents, packaging and quantities for properties with fewer than thirty rooms.

A riad has an advantage no chain hotel can copy: guests arrive expecting something local. The amenities are one of the few things they will touch twice a day, so they deserve the same attention as the breakfast.
Start with the scent
Pick one scent and use it everywhere, from the soap to the diffuser in the courtyard. Oud and orange blossom are both unmistakably Moroccan and both work in small bathrooms.
Choose sizes for your average stay
A 30 ml bottle covers a stay of two to three nights. If most of your guests stay longer, the 300 ml pump line in the shower reduces waste and housekeeping time.
Decide what goes on the tray
Shampoo, shower gel and soap are the minimum. Hair perfume is the piece that gets noticed. A ritual box in the suites gives the stay a story to tell.
Order in realistic quantities
For a fifteen room riad with 70% occupancy, a year of miniatures is around 4,000 units. Custom branding starts at 500 units, so most riads can carry their own label from the first order.
